DESCRIPTION:Reminder - Seminar Today\n\n\n	Increasingly non-profits are using the Internet to get their word out and stay connected. The Internet can be a very powerful way to reach donors and supporters. And it can be very effective to stay connected with those served and the volunteers that are the backbone of every non-profit. But all the options: Twitter\, Facebook\, blogs\, Google Places\, and traditional websites\, can seem overwhelming. Where do you start or what do you do next?\n\n	This workshop is for you. If the Internet is unfamiliar to you it will help you sort and prioritize your options. And if you are using the Internet already it will show you other aspects you may not have considered and how they all fit together in an overall strategy to reach out and stay connected.\n\n	There will be three sections to the workshop. The first will be an overview of all the ways the Internet can be used and is being used by non-profits and why each is important to reach clients\, volunteers\, and supporters. The second portion of the workshop will focus on two or three topics - for example\, social media\, blogs\, selling online\, electronic newsletters\, Google Places\, or traditional websites - chosen by the participants. The afternoon will end with an opportunity for participants to get one-on-one or small group consultations with the two instructors from University of Minnesota Extension. The workshop will be tailored to the knowledge and skill level of the participants so everyone will benefit.\n\n	Bottom line: This workshop will help you make an informed decision about how to use the Internet most effectively. It will provide both an overview and a detailed set of Internet strategies. You will walk away with some new ideas and online tools to help you have a successful 2012 and beyond.\n\n	This workshop is offered as part of the Minnesota Intelligent Rural Communities (MIRC) program by the University of Minnesota Extension in local partnership with the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of the Greater Winona Area. MIRC is coordinated by the Blandin Foundation of Grand Rapids\, Minnesota and funded by a US Department of Commerce grant.\n\n	To register please call the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce at (507) 453-2272.\n\n	The workshop will be held Thursday\, March 29th from Noon to 4:00 PM at the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce\, 902 East Second Street\, Suite 120\, Winona.
