Camp Trade & Technology
Camp T & T is four day camp offering high school students in 10th, 11th and 12th grades hands-on, engaging activities to help them explore the many different careers available to them in Welding, Electronics, Construction Technology and Computer Aided Design (CAD). Join us for the opportunity for you to sample our program areas each day with qualified instructors in a safe and fun learning environment!
Learn to Weld
Camp T&T will start in our welding area, with welding instructor, Casey Mann. This will be a full session of hands-on fun learning about basic welding skills. You will be introduced to a few weld and cutting processes and become familiar with the various equipment from fabrication shops. Safety is our main priority! Leather boots or tennis shoes and jeans or long pants will be required.
Discover Electronics
Led by Electronics instructor, Marc Kalis, you will experience a variety of electronic formats including both Analog and Digital while learning the proper usage of a variety of test equipment. We will build circuits on proto boards and test for proper operation. At the end of the day you will leave with your own solder project.
Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Experience CAD Design modeling using Solidworks software with CAD Instructor Jim Ziegler. Solidworks is a powerful three dimensional drawing tool used by several companies to design their products. You will be introduced to 3D printing as it relates to CAD. Learn how 3D printing is used by CAD designers to create actual parts and models directly from the CAD software. You will then base your Solidworks models on another project also to be completed this week.
Constuction Technology
Gain hands-on skills in the construction lab learning the tools, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade. Construction Technology instructor Jonathan Powell will be leading this session.DAILY SCHEDULE (Individual camp agendas will be sent prior to Aug. 5.)
