About Us

Operating since 1992, the Winona Area Humane Society (WAHS) is a no-kill, appointment-based shelter that places hundreds of cats and dogs in loving forever homes every year. Our mission to help homeless animals is achieved mostly through fundraising, generous donations, and adoption/surrender fees; we do not receive any state or federal funding.
