9:30 a.m. Preliminary Session: Lobby 101: How to be the most effective advocate for your issues
This breakout session has become very popular over the past two years, so we are opening it up to all attendees who might be interested in a little refresher course before heading up to talk with legislators. Bill Blazar, senior vice president of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce provides a great overview for the novice to the experienced.
10:30 a.m. Welcome & Key Messages for 2013 Business Priorities
Minnesota Chamber of Commerce President David Olson will welcome the group and an update on the progress of 2013 Business Priorities: education and workforce, spending and tax reform, health care, energy, environmental regulations and election reform will be provided. Attendees will receive written materials outlining each priority.
11:00 a.m. Business Keynote Address: The Importance of a Great Business Climate
Hear from Scott Wine, Chairman and CEO, Polaris Industries, as he shares his views on Minnesota's business climate as well as concerns about Governor Dayton's proposed budget and the impact it will have on one of the state's largest manufacturers.
11:30 a.m. Lunch
12:00 p.m. Luncheon Address from Governor Mark Dayton
Governor Mark Dayton will address the business community at this annual event. The Administration’s update on the progress of the session as well as the business communities’ priorities is anticipated. There will be time allotted for audience questions.
