Diversity & Unconscious Bias
The topics that will be covered include a brief framework of race and racism, unconscious bias and cultural diversity. We will explore the context that shaped our ideas of race in this country and how that has shaped many of our ideas of race presently.
We will also explore what unconscious bias is, the different facets of bias as well as some keys to moving past our inherent biases.
Lastly we will explore the concepts of cultural diversity, its importance and how we each can grow in this concept.
Presented by Terrelle Wilson
Terrelle has a diverse background professionally and personally that provides a unique perspective. His educational background includes a Bachelors in Corrections and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. He has served in various organizations including juvenile secure facilities, juvenile probation, non-profit organizations, social work organizations, elementary, middle, high school, as well as college and now currently is a seasonal business owner. He has four children ranging in age from 7 to 14 and enjoys officiating basketball, staying active and cooking.
