Easy and Successful Internet Strategies For Artists and Arts Organizations Artists, arts organizations and fairs, theatre and musical groups all appreciate the need to have a web presence. It is the way to reach patrons, supporters, and customers today. But all the options: Twitter, Facebook, blogs, Google Places, and traditional websites, can seem overwhelming. Whether you are new to the Internet or already using, it this workshop is for you. If you are new to the Internet, it will help you sort and prioritize your options. And if you are using the Internet already it will show you other aspects you may not have considered and how they all fit together in an overall marketing strategy. There will be three sections to the workshop. The first will be an overview of all the ways the Internet can be used and is being used by artists and why each is important to reach customers, patrons, and supporters. The second portion of the workshop will focus on two or three topics - for example, social media, blogs, selling online, electronic newsletters, Google Places, or traditional websites - chosen by the participants. The afternoon will end with an opportunity for participants to get one-on-one or small group consultations with the two instructors from University of Minnesota Extension. The workshop will be tailored to the knowledge and skill level of the participants so everyone will benefit. Bottom line: This workshop will help you make an informed decision about how to use the Internet most effectively. It will provide both an overview and a detailed set of Internet strategies You will walk away with some new ideas and online tools to help you have a successful 2012 and beyond. This workshop is offered as part of the Minnesota Intelligent Rural Communities program by the University of Minnesota Extension in local partnership with the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce and River Arts Alliance.
