All new leaders are expected to know exactly what to do and how to do it the single second they step into the role. New leaders will lean into what they have seen other leaders do, whether that be effective or not, and do not really have their own “way” of doing things defined. Having the confidence to take on the leadership role is a step in the right direction. However, the delivery and influence of their leadership comes through developing skill and knowing what is expected of them that really makes a high potential leader become a leader that has built credibility and respect amongst those they lead.
